Nissan is a fairly new company in the India auto market, starting only in 2005 with the now discontinued Nissan X-Trail and soon after releasing the sporty 370Z, the luxurious Teana and the Evalia. In 2010 Renault-Nissan alliance plant was in Chennai was inaugurated and has since produced the micra, sunny and Terrano. While being fairly new in the country the company has shown that it is here to stay with its range of vehicle options available with the sunny being the companies offering in the Indian mid size sedan market.

The car comes in 2 variants petrol and diesel and in 3 price models namely the XE, the XL and the XV with a special automatic version available in the petrol version of the XV. In the mechanical department the Sunny is available with a set of 1.5-liter Petrol and diesel engines producing 97 Bhp and 134 Nm of torque for the Petrol and the diesel produces 84 Bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The engines are peppy and provide more than enough punch for a car of its class for daily city driving and both petrol and diesel versions are paired with a 5-speed gearbox which works well with the engine to provide a competent driving experience. With a ground clearance of 170 mm the car is more than capable of handling Indian roads and the cars suspension and engine make sure that the cars wide size does not affect its handling in the least. All in all, the car is excellent for a family on a budget providing good value for money.
